the coils have a lot of cracks. Is it possible to fill these cracks with epoxy?
How can I remove the mounting plate (with the coils, points, condensers mounted on it) to get at the bottom of it to be able to work on it?
what position do I have to move the throttle to gap the points ?
I sometimes get a weak spark on both plugs.
The plugs are J6J. Is that correct ?
Lot of questions I sure need help.
Thanks

All of these questions would be answered in the manual. It is good to have it, and the original service manual from OMC is the best.
The plate can be removed by unscrewing the screws that also mount the coils on the plate.
Cracked coils need to be replaced with new ones. Probably the points and condensers need replacing, while you've already got it apart.
The throttle position is irrelevant when setting the points, but it has to remain in the same position throughout the entire process of setting them.
Spark plugs are OK, but the new number is J6C.

Also change the water pump impeller, if you don't know how old it is.
