erniefish, totally forgot about the private message thing on here. I guess it isn't setup to e-mail me when I get one? I just noticed you sent me a message a while back about this as well, so sorry about that.
Definitely interested, check your PM, I'd like to get more info.

Re: Cracked Lower Unit Yamaha 90

probably already know the answer to this, but is there anyway to figure out if a lower unit from a certain year model previous to mine will fit my motor? Erniefish has a 1990 LU for a 85. I looked up the part number for the casing and the LU, and they are both different than mine. I'm just wondering if there's anyway to see if they'll fit regardless. I mean they could have changed the part number just because they put a different screen on the water intake or something...or thats my hope at least.

Re: Cracked Lower Unit Yamaha 90

Well erniefish lower unit wouldn't work, but i found a used 70hp that has the right size housing, so i'm going to go with that. Found the unit for 250 which is great but it looks like its going to cost about 300 bucks to get a repair shop to pull the parts out of one and put them in the other. Is that too steap? i know its not easy pulling those parts out but i figured it would be about 150 bucks...
