I have a good old craftsman polisher/sander.Lots of torque, works great.Would like to change the disc to acomodate a larger bonnet.Rather than break something and ask questions later.....I am going to ask BEFORE trying to change the disc. How do it get the disc off??? see pics of model tag, disc and auger.Anyone ever done this ??? Charlie

You need the special wrench with two pins that go in the holes on the backing pad

Looks like the shaft has a hole through it and you align the hole with a set of grooves in the tool. Inset a pin and it holds the shaft from turning. Could probably user a small screw driver shaft or allen wrench. If to dont have the 2 pin spanner you could use a punch and hammer to tap the collar counter clockwise. Really shouldn't be that tight.

Tap a punch in one of the holes counter clockwise to loosen. After you put the new disc, hand tight will do. It will tighten more when used. Same as a grinder.
