It's a CL fault. To max views some sellers post in other cities. Northeast GA is divided in to into 5 areas - Atlanta and NEWS of Atlanta. Atlanta South get plenty of Florida cross postings, Atlanta West gets lots of Bama, and so on.
It happens all over the country like that. That's why I use Search Tempest search by distance and the Bundle Duplicates option so only one ad appears for the same item.

Dallas has a very large CL posting including separate 3000 max listings on parts of Dallas. Big boating community in Dallas area which extends to the 85,000 acre Lake Texoma borders both states. Some posters post on metropolitan areas to get better exposure since they may be in an area where their CL only has a hundred or so listings. ON things like shipping container sales, one company is just about nationwide.
I like to go to different areas on CL and just look at the types of boats available for boating in that local. Gives you a real indepth look at other places to boat.
If looking for something in particular, and there's aren't many around, you can easily narrow your search and widen the area to any degree you want, using searchtempest dot com. Once you have that figured out, you can be much more effective in your searches.
