So I am a craigslist nut, and just thought I would let you guys know that if you ever need anything, Craigslist is the place. In trying to restore my 73' silverline aruba, I have found an engine and outdrive with a 6 month warranty for 700 bucks and I just put the boat in a shop that is going to rebuild my transom for 400 bucks the guy will guaranttee his work for five years. All I did was post up an ad saying what I needed(work and parts)with the prices I was willing to pay and people from all over were sending me emails. Maybe it's because times are tough and people just need to make money, but whatever. As soon as I get the boat back, I will try to put up pics. I am just so excited about my finds that I had to tell someone. haha

Re: craigslist

CL is where l got my motor and boat, seperatly, and feel I got decent deals.

I shop CL a lot too. Have found some great stuff in the free section and have given or sold a lot of stuff too.

Re: craigslist

Greetings!

I have bought and sold some stuff on Craigslist as well and found it to be fairly useful in that regard. I can't say however, that I would take my boat to somebody from CL and let them rebuild my transom. I'm pretty picky when it comes to finding service folks though. A bad one can end up costing you far more than you spent in the first place.

Respectfully,
-T

I would go around and get a few prices before I let them touch it. The cheapest price is usually the wrong way to go.

Re: craigslist

I too am addicted to Craigslist. I bought and sold the last two boats thru them.
The current one I found in Arizona's craigslist. Then converted it from an I/O (sold thru craigs) to an OB where all the main components found and bought thru craigslist...4 stroke Yami, offshore bracket, under pedestal seat boxes to name a few.
