I have a 200HP Electronic Fuel Injected Outbard Suzuki year 2000 that won't start.

I have investigated the warning beeps sequence and found out it is either a crank position sensor or a cam position sensor. The boat is in a sling and I would rather not have to tow it to a ramp and crank it onto a trailer if I don’t have to. Is this something an amateur can tackle, or do I need to take it in.

Thanks

Re: Crank position sensor Suzuki Outboard

You can go to Brown Point Marine's web site and look at a parts diagram (and price list) to see where items are located on your engine. The Suzuki repair manual is also available from them but is of limited help. I got a Clymer manual and between it and the mfg's manual I can figure most things out - may get a Selco manual just so I have all three. The crank sensor should be rlatively easy to get to but not sure about thecam position sensor.
