Crankcase sealed then I turned it by hand, am I ok?

I sealed up a Case as I have done several times...However after it was sealed and torqued to specs...I turned it over a bunch of times with a socket on the flywheel/Crank.

While this is actually recommend to check for binds etc..I did it with the plugs in, and reeds/intake installed. Is this ok? Meaning....would any built up pressure push out or squeeze my 518 out?

Its been several days now, and it sees ok...But have not gone further or tested compressions at all yet.

Did you use cleaner/primer on the joint? If so you'd have no worries as it would have flashed the 518 in about 15 seconds. Without the primer I'm sure you'd be fine as well - hand cranking won't build much crank case pressure and the piston compression is not in play there.

Yes, I used Loctite's primer made for the 518. Just got nerveous as I did spin it a bunch (all proud of myself-like!) Then realized I had everything in, and it was pressurized. Just by hand-no more then 8-10 spins or so.

Thanks, Will soon but a starter on, and compression test it, But really wont know about the front case side.

youl be fine, and dont worry about compression until its been run a little while, if its got new rings or a re-bore it can take a couple of hours to settle down a bit.
