I asked this in a different forum, but maybe it wasn't the right one.
I have a '00 Merc 200 EFI which has a screw in type hose connection for flushing the engine. My question is this... When running the engine at home in the driveway, is it preferred to use the hose connection built into the engine or to use the standard muffs at the lower unit pickup? I have both, but I seem to get better flow through the telltale as well as through the exiting ports on either side of the lower unit with the hose connection. However, I am not sure whether this gives proper water volume to the water pump impeller.
Also, when utilizing either method, what are the recommendations as far as maximum rpm's that you should run the engine?
Any assistance would be welcomed, just don't want to break something unnecessarily.
Thanks.
