ok so i have been looking for a boat with out a motor i have a good motor i found a boat called a crappie master. its a fishing stile boat and it needs some work like carpet wiring and other small things here and there. im not sure the exact year but im geusing around an 89 to 90. it curenlty is at a marina i talked to the guy that owned it he said he bought it for the motor it had a 150 on it. he wants 500 for boat and trailer(nice trailer). sorry i dont have pics i didnt think to take any wile i was there. also it dosnt feel or look like it has a clear coat. so it will probably need one. how hard is that to do i have painted cars before is it the same as clearing a car? any info is appreciated

Fiberglass boat?

Take a look at the fiberglass restoration threads to see what you might be in for if that boat turns out to need repair... which it more than likely does.

Truthfully, that boat and trailer aren't worth more than the trailer alone and the boat will need $1000-$2000 worth of repairs in just materials only.

yes it is fiberglass to i forgot to mention that. from what i could see the transom was solid and the floors were solid but i want know 100% what it needs till i get into it that is if we buy it. i have been reading all the boat resto threats on here for about a year so i think i can handle most of it and what i dont know ill just post on here and find out. btw thanks for the reply

well we have decided to sell our the motor we have and just buy another boat instead of trying to buy the crappie master and not knowing if it is rotted out or not

Good decision, when boats start to become "donor" boats and are stripped for their more valuable parts it's usually not a good sign for a sound hull.
