Crazy gauges?? Indmar 351

I have an Indmar 351 5.7l v8 direct drive (1991), while driving on sunday after about 2 hours my rev counter started to bounce up and down at all speeds, my batt volt meter also was bouncing up and down and all lights on dash were flickering? the boat was running fine just all the gauges seemed to have gone crazy?? Shut her off and started her back up and all was fine for the rest of the day (2 more hours), any ideas what would cause crazy gauges?<br /><br />Cheers<br />Ross

Check all your electrical connections. Might have picked up some corrosion.

Found the problem , i had knocked the battery switch to off, so no charge was going back to the battery so gauges were going crazy, turn battery switch back on and all is fine.<br /><br />cheers<br />ril
