I have a 1987 9.9 jonny as a kicker motor on my larger boat. It starts and runs fine, the last time out we let it run to help attract the perch, and I discovered some light tan creamy slimmy goo comming out of the exhaust. I shut it off and lifted the motor and could see this discharge comming from the exhaust hub in the prop. My first thought was a leak in the lower unit, so the next morning I drained the LU and found no water or any sign of water. LU appeared to be full as I could see a small amount of oil when I removed the upper screw. I am at a loss, have spent many years around outboards and have not experienced this before. Would appreciate any feedback the fine folks on here have to offer. Thanks in advance

What you describe is unburned oil from combustion mixed with cooling water - - perfectly normal and no cause for concern.

Check your lower unit oil and make sure there is no water in it. Typically unburned two cycle oil will be black. Cream colored oil is likely from your gear case and coming up through your upper seal.

all my premix motors do the same thing, drip whitish goop after idling, followed by black goop, no lu problems.

Many thanks for the confidence boosting answers. In all my years I have not seen this before or at least haven't noticed it. And yes it did set at a fast idle for a couple hours. Thanks again
