I just bought a project 1962 Sea Scout 14' . I have several questions about it, and was hoping one of the members here would have the answers. I would like to bring it back close to original, unfortunately the prior owner made some mods. so hence the questions. I need to replace the interior transom wood. I assume that it was full width but did it go all the way to the floor or just the upper 10 or so inches? Were there gussets from the floor to the transom? The steering has been changed to a push- pull [Teleflex type] single cable and I will most likely use that, however I have read that it originally had a 'Crestliner Torque -Free Steering " system . Anyone know what that was? Thanks in advance for any input.

We got 18" of snow yesterday so the boat is covered in it . I have been trying to upload what pics I have but to no avail. I sized them to 120kbs and they are jpgs ,I chose, attachment Upload Attachment, and there I am getting a "Unknown Error" message. so I will try to get the hang of posting these pictures

easiest way i have found is choose picks right click and email them to yourself in windows , you can use cntrl to choose several and then it will ask if you want to resize them i always choose smallest to be safe.

My only concern is all the added weight from the 2x4 substructure. Be careful when you're on the water
