i have a 1976 402/40 engine i just bought and im having trouble.i took the hood off and all the wires from the stator were corroded and rotten. i boght a new stator for 160.00. i got it home and there is a extra blue wire on yhe new one. sierra part no. was 18-5856 the part is made by cdi rapair boght at my local marine shop. this part no. is 174-5255. my old stator had 2 yellow wires going to rectifier black going to post with blue wire from power pack and red going to post with red with powerpack. 2 questions? where will the extra blue wire go and what else could be fried from age. all other electrical wires look good.
