I've been rewiring my 1980 J-50 elcsr following my seloc manual . tried starting it a couple of times, but nuthing would spin, click ,etc . Broke
each section down by component then realised while testing the starter solinoid that the wireing diagram has the wires flipped . Can anyone tell me if I can expect any thing to be fried ? Not only battery -starter but key and kill were mixed too.

You can pretty much guarantee that the rectifier is now toast.

Test it as per your manual.
