SC, I did that water test per the books I have and it only took about 7 seconds to pump a gallon, book said something like 30 or 40 seconds (they are in the boat now and it is 30 here now "LOL") The cap on the trunion is on with a new washer in it, I and not sure I am going to use the hose connector on the outdrive again, that might be how I filled the crankcase full of water once. Had hose hooked up and turned on full before I started it. (4 oil and filter changes fixed that)

Boomyal: what is a good penatrant? I am sure this is not the first stuck thing I am going to run into.

There are many, SDT. Liquid Wrench, PB Blaster, Zep to name a few. Definitely a must have if yer werking with nuts and bolts.

PB BLASTER is a must have in any Hacker's tool box. Right there along with the duct tape! ;)
