Crusader 1976 temp and oil pressure alarms?

im trying to figure out should these senders or switchs depending on what site you go too? with the eng off oil presure swith creates a ground corect? temp switch should be ol no ground with eng off right?with eng on the temp sender or switch should create ground when eng starts too get hot mabe 200 degs not sure about number? this is my understanding of hoe the system works if not help!

Ayuh,.... Alarm switches are normally open circuit, til the alarm goes off, when the switch closes, 'n goes to ground....

Not exactly. The Oil pressure is a normally closed (NC) type switch. The alarm will sound until pressure opens the switch. Typically at 5-7 psi as the engine starts running.

Temp is a normally open (NO) type switch. The alarm sounds only when the temp gets too high. Typically 200? to 220?

Ayuh,.... Agreed,... I know that,..:facepalm:.:rolleyes: My noggin' wasn't connectin' with the typin' finger on that 1,...

ok fixed prob they had the wrong senders in for the alarms thanks for the help bcclew
