What are some ways to reseal/reinstall the plastic insert on a hatch. The plastic seams to sit just on top of the frame with no mounting lip or screws or anything. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

Not really...If it is common (Bomar) hatch.Clean the edges of where the plastic came out of thoroughly.Lay a small bead of marine silicone or windshieds sealant in the frame and lay the plastic on top of it .I recently did the same job.Charlie

Thanks crazy charlie. And no pictures.

Only part of the plastic (a corner) is broken loose and leaking. How do you get the rest of the plastic insert off? Is there a gasket to replace or is the windsheild sealer enough material to seal it?

You can try to seal the corner using windshield sealant if the rest is in tact and not leaking. You should get the type that is thinner and creeps into the opening.seal it by letting it creep down into the seam.
