Cuddy + power?

I'm eying a 19' Sea Ray cuddy with 170hp Mercruiser. Would this be enough to pull an adult (150lb) slalom skier? (With 4 more adults on board.) This would seem fine with a bowrider, as I could put a person or two forward, but with a cuddy?

Are you talking the infamous Merc. 470? If so, DON'T do it.

I agree.....The 470 was the biggest mistake Mercruiser ever made...

Thanks, guys, for blowing my dream boat purchase.

Ha-ha. That was extremely valuable info. In fact, doing the research, I realized that the 470 was the engine my brother had on his boat. He hated it. "It's the only engine, car or boat, that I couldn't figure out how to work on."
