Snooping through parts listings I came across an entry for a '91 Evinrude Quiet Runner. Looks like the cowl had a big air duct coming out the starboard side among other intriguing differences.
The Quiet Rider was indeed an odd duck. It was an outboard that was completely covered like an I/O. The hood was simply a very flimsy piece of plastic that did nothing more than hold the air duct. The mid section was kinda strange too. There was no stern brackets and the whole thing tilted on a big bar.
never seen one, but looks like you could do it with any ob. just a cowl over the motor. but as Dhadley said the OB was modified for this setup. i guess it would deflect the noise.
