curiousity - tilt and trim question

My motor is currently a 1989 Evinrude 70hp motor with tilt and trim. I was just wondering if tilt and trim setups are setup for each individual motor or for numerous.

Like if I replaced my motor in the future, could I put a range of years on this same tilt and trim, and a range of hp's?

thanks, i was just curious. never know when a 85 or 100 will show up for a steal that I cant resist.
