Cutting off the end of Molded Hose #32-822554 going to fuel pump

Hi All,

Is it safe to cut off the end of Molded Hose #32-822554 removing the part circled red if necessary?



I suspect it's causing some gas leak. It's apparently there for compatibility with other outboard models.

I say cut it off!!! It is just plugged for something your motor doesn't have.

I looked in the service manual and it is in fact a plug and as #69 said, for some not currently used purpose.
