1996 60hp Mercury 2 Cycle outboard runs good at idle and WOT but when I pull back from WOT just a little, it will start to cut out and if left alone, will eventually stall. Then will start right back up. Plugs looked ok but I changed them anyways. I was thinking something associated with fuel. I added Seafoam hoping maybe it could clear things up but have yet to run it through. WOT is 5000 rpm and the cutting out is at 4000 rpm. I'm confused as to why it would act like this just at a certain rpm. Thanks in advance.

I have a similar issue... What have you done for troubleshooting so far?

Only changed plugs and won't be able to get to it again until the weekend. I'm wondering if there's a vacuum issue and it just happens that at WOT it's able to suck the fuel it needs and can run fine. so my next step may be check the fuel lines.
