Forgive my elementary questions but I would rather ask than waste money on extra material. I am replacing the rear deck on my bass boat. I am going to use the old deck as a template for cutting with a few small changes. Any tips? I would like to use one sheet of plywood. Cut to overall shape. Then cut out hatches using the cut-outs as the hatches.
I replaced another large hatch on the boat a few weeks ago using the old piece as a template. I just traced it and cut with a jigsaw. But it looked like crap! The shape was off and the edges ugly. Any pointers?
Also, I posted this question earlier with no response. I removed a drain from the transom. The wood inside the hole, the core, was mushy and a wet on the bottom. Can I dig out the rot and repair? What should I use to fill the void?
Please. Any advice.
