hello all ihave a 175 evin crossflow , rebuilt powerhead new stats waterpump brp complete kits the stats are complete with poppetts stainless kits ,
i had motor finale tuned by omc guy in tank with correct test prop
he did the link and sink and checked total timeing i had set it by joes method it was 1 degree off got boat back runs great its broke in .
i ran it on muffs today because im fixing to fish. on the muffs the exhaust outlet holes were putting out water and the pee stream is strong
but my right side lookig at back of motor is a little hotter than the left
ran at idle for 10 minutes can easily touch heads but the right side seems
hotter than left over heat alarm is good and not sounding ive overheated one ,so i know a little abut the heat issues ,does that side normaly run a little hotter than the other ,i believe i have read some post
on the cross flow motors that one bank runs a little hotter than the other
d hadley emsmanger one you guys ezeke am i good or do i need to check into it shoot it with gun or what it has new deflectors in the heads in the proper places double checked before finale assembly , will be putting temp gauges on it and waterpressure gauge on it im working on my setup thanks

I noticed when testing temp by touching by hand, if you use the same hand the second head will feel hotter.
Because your hand is already hot.

Benny, I'd check with a laser gun. You've got a lot of time and $ invested, so check it with the gun. Just in case one of the head temp senders is not working properly... If you are in the 145-150 range at idle you are good to go. If you have one side a lot higher, like 175, that's higher than normal and I would go looking for a problem. 175 is the low end of the overheat range. My surface mounted head temp sender is a few degrees off from the gun, so I measure by the gun, then mentally correct the gauge temperature for any difference during normal running. If you hook the water pressure gauge line direct to the nipple on the exhaust cover, you should see 6-8 lbs at idle with a new impeller. 17-18 lbs at high speeds. The gauge can read somewhat lower if you "t" it into the telltale line. Is your new 175 engine a flatback small bore or the bubble back bigbore?

small bore 149 cid whats up ems theres barely a difference
the guy that tuned my stuff is real good he said he shot it and i was good to go but seeing is believeing may run it by there and throw it in tank it realy doesnt like the muffs to much but as you said good bit of money and a lot of time
between the rebuild of powerhead and mid section that was a pain
tuner bushind and seals salt water motor ems have you ever run the dry exhaust system weld on with the plugs above waterline
