Cylinder deglazing necessary?

I have a spare engine that I'm cleaning up and then going to put away for later. The cylinder walls look to be in exceptional shape. There is no ridge whatsoever and the crossthatch marks are still visible. How do you determine if deglazing is necessary?

If you pull the pistons out of the cylinders, they need deglazed. There is little chance you will get the rings back into the exact same locations.

Personally, If I had the engine apart and the pistons out, a new set of rings would be going in along with deglazing to put the cut back into the cross hatch.
