I am considering taking out my trim guage and putting in a cyl head temp guage and a switch to toggle between the two heads. All my other guages are the white teleflex arctic series and I would like the temp guage to match as close as possible. For the guys that have added this setup to thier motors heres a question? Where did you find the guage and the little bolt on style senders? I have found a few guages online, but no senders like that. Plus they need to match up to read correctly. My last question is what kind of temps should I be looking for once I would have it setup? What is too high?

I bought teleflex guage with sensors that read 160 in the middle of their range, thats about right, 180 sets off the overheat alarm.
Just make sure you get the sensors for your particular engine so the threads are correct. Got mine at the local West Marine.

Make sure to get one for outboards only ... the others won't work and have way different ranges. The have a universal sender that works by surface contact with the head and one the threads into an existing tapped recess in the head. Your motor will determine the type you need.

I am pretty sure I need the surface mount type that you mount under one of the head bolts. I have a 1994 112SPL Evinrude. I am looking for where you can buy the surface mount type and the guage to go along with the range for them.

Arctic is not made in OB temp type. This is as close as I think you will find (Lido):

This includes sender, but I couldn't tell what type. Your motor probably has a tapped boss either on top of block or in the head. Install with some Crisco in the hole, or similar for best heat transfer. BTW, the surface type uses one of the water cover screws, not a head bolt.
