To get everyone up to speed I replace the water pump & water temp guage (the pump went out on the water) then had a problem with vro fuel side so I bought a fuel pump # 438559 I had to build a mount, and lastly Replaced the spark plugs I guess you can tell I received my Seloc manual.
Now here is the big question My warning horn is not working a friend of my said the best thing to do is purchase a Cylinder Head Temperature Gauge can any one help me out and where do you buy such a thing My motor is a 1990 Johnson 70Hp out board or even tell me about the horn I do I check it:confused:
Thank you for the pass responces
Enjoy the ride

Re: Cylinder Head Temperature Gauge

There's a temperature switch in the head, that will have a brown or tan wire on it. Disconnect the wire from the switch and ground it to the engine block (with the ignition switch turned on, engine doesn't need to be running). That should sound the alarm horn, if not you either have a bad horn or a wiring problem between the temperature switch and the horn.

As far as the temperature gauge, they sell 'em here on iboats. They come as a kit with the gauge and sender, the sender has a small bracket that is held on with one of the head bolts.

I'll add to Wrench's comment. Probably best to repair the head sensor or the horn. In addition to sounding for overheats, the horn will signal for problems in the VRO oiling system, too. Best to have that horn system working. You can always add the temp gauge later.
