Hello

Could anybody please give me detailed instructions on how to do a compression test on the cylinders for a Johnson v6 model # 150txcur. If anybody has pictures that would be awsome!

Thank you

remove all the spark plugs, using a screw in compression tester, insert tester, turn engine over 4-5 revolutions, record number, got to next cylinder. post your result #'s here. 100 psi but more important that the are equal with in 10 %.

you should do a decarb to see if that will even those numbers out. That engine should start the way it is, you have another problem.

What do you think of these results? The engine was cold, we could'nt get it started. We did spark test on each spark plug, good spark. Engine ran good after test and after 10 min. and then cut out.

Thanks for your help
