I Have a 1985 90 HP Johnson. I bought it this May it had a compression of 123/123/120/113 PSI. Put over 80 hours on it and ran great with no problems. The compression stayed the same at the end of the season. Should I worry about this low cylinder? Hoping for another good season or 2.

That is still less than 10% difference. I wouldn't worry about it right now.

Thanks to eveyone for your opinons. Did decarb had no efect. Will just keep takeing good care of it and going to rebuild carbs before next season. I will be seeking advice at that time. Going to order kit now.
Thanks again .

Re: Cylinder with 113 PSI

You did not mention which cylinders had the stated compression numbers. It is not unusual for the crossflows to have different compression readings between each bank. All depended on how the block was originally machined by the factory. If the two 123 readings were on one bank (head,) and the other readings from the other bank, it's a normal thing. Anyway, you are fine the way it is regardless.

if it makes you feel better throw sand in the three good cylinders to knock them down to about 113 PSI...then youd be all set
