Just visited this place today and am considering a slip here. Anyone have any experience with them or other recommendations for inexpensive access to the Delaware? We're north of Philly & haven't been on the Delaware yet so we're looking to try it this summer since it's much closer & more interesting than the small reservoir lakes near us.

Are you keeping your boat in the water or trailering? There are boat clubs up and down the Delaware river, some have ramps and dockage is usually available; cheaper than marinas most of the time. Look up Delaware River Yachtsmens League. DRYL has about 40 clubs. I am a member of Riverwinds Yacht Club. Hope this helps you.

I was considering a slip for the 2nd half of the season this year. I'll scope out what you mentioned too & consider just trailering to the river. A half season slip at D&S looks to be about $1k (3 months).

The only other ramp I've looked at/known about on the Delaware was at Nashaminy Park, but I'm sure there's tons of other ones I just don't know about.

I'm not familiar with yacht clubs at all. What kind of fees are involved to join one & what are the benefits? I poked around at the DRYL clubs online, but most of the sites seem to only list officers, etc. & I couldn't get a good grasp of what members actually get out of it.

The benefits of the clubs are that there are events such as crab feasts, picnics, cruises, etc. A lot of the clubs have bars, food, some restaurants. Some have fuel and pumpouts. Launching ramps are another plus. The yearly dues range from $50 and up. The docks range from $20 a foot and up. Most have winter storage too. You probably have to do a few hours of labor that could range from cutting grass to putting docks in and out and such. It is a way to get to know other boaters also. Where is D&S marina at off the Delaware?

It's in Tullyville just north of the Turnpike bridge in a small cove.

I'd love to join a yacht club to meet the people, but I'm not sure hoe much time we'd have for all the social events, but could be fun. I wish more of the YC websites listed more details on membership dues and benefits. I'd love to find and be part of something with private launch and dock facilities. My biggest concern with Nashaminy is how busy I'm sure it gets in the summer.

SB,if you go to dryl.org,scroll down and there is a map of where the clubs are located. Edgely boat club,Bristol yacht club,Anchor yc and Neshaminy Harbor yc. are near the cove. You can look them up individually and get info and such.

We are on Big Timber creek near the Walt Whitman bridge.Haven't been up that way in a few years but our club is planning a north-south cruise sometime in June to hit the clubs at Bordentown NJ and a few on the Pa. side. Do you know if you are still allowed to anchor out at Tullytown overnight?

For a ramp, believe I mentioned months ago that there is a BUCKS county ramp on RIVER ROAD between MORRISVILLE and YARDLEY. Never remember seeing a crowd there, lots of room. Also been to a very nice marina/ restuarant on the river in downtown BURLINGTON but that on the JERSEY side. Might also want to look into the area north of TULLYTOWN. Follow signs to PENNS MANOR and there is a lot of water with larger boats so there has to be access to the river. Use to be US steel property with private boat clubs but believe it is all county owned now.
Just reminising now, each property owner in TULLYTOWN recieves a few grand each year from WASTE MANAGEMENT for being a host community. Lived in FAIRLESS HILLS between 95 and 2000. Had very low taxes for the same reason. Those are not really natural hill you see there. regards FRED

That sounds nice! I scoured Google Maps for a bit in that area, but I don't see any ramps (I realize that can be a hard way to find them). I'd also be a little concerned about water depth north of Morrisville.

I found your post on my Upper Black Eddy thread last year. I guess I didn't pick up on the Yardley ramp from that post.

Lovely! I did notice the landfill mountain across the cove. I have to admit, most of the river along the commercial lane doesn't excite me a whole lot other than the ability to just boat for miles and the proximity to where we live.
