Hello, my name is Joe and I am addicted to music! šŸ˜† Have been this way since 1964 when I first heard the Beatles on the radio and bought my first electric guitar and amp. Still consider that boy group to be my favorite.

I just found this thread and there are some good selections and some favorites, too. I enjoy playing the blues, country, classic rock and tend to give rap, a lot of the newer country and rock along with heavy metal a wide berth. What is really nice about finding this thread is I now have another source of music to play along with. There is a ā€˜97 Fender Fat Telecaster and a one off Ainesis electric acoustic guitar resting on stands next to the chair I’m sitting on along with amps and combination effects.
One of the best little effects amps I use to play along with thread offerings is a bluetooth capable amp called a Jam Buddy. I frequent another forum entitled Model Car Makers Forum and there’s a similar thread that started out as a ā€œwhat kind of music, when driving your car, makes you feel like putting the pedal to the metal?ā€ So, with the Jam Buddy it’s very nice to bluetooth music from my iphone to the amp and also play along with a guitar. Now I’m able to use music selections from this thread, too! Thank you so much for the musical contributions as I am sure Joyce will enjoy the music as much as I will enjoy playing various selections for my bride of 57 years. (as of May 3, 2026)

Hey Joe, glad you stopped by.

I don't do much rap either but I can power thru most others.

My now 86 year old father named me after the two other band mates in their high school to college trio band, similar to the Kingston trio (they recorded two albums) and I've grown up with music as a intregal part of who I am.

I cried for a couple days when Jimmy buffet died.

Most every day I wake up with a song in my head and I normally send that to dad. Most are songs I grew up with but some are less his normal style (although he is the one that got me into pink floyd) so I send him the lyrics as the poem to the song along with the link to hear it. So, if you see me post lyrics that is a song I sent to dad.

Here is the one I sent him during my middle of the night wandering about two hours ago

I have to admit that during my younger days if I wasn’t hearing ā€œmy kind of musicā€ the radio was turned off. Fortunately for me, when returning to college at the tender age of 37 I had to take a Music Appreciation course because the Art Appreciation course was filled. Music Appreciation is all about Classical music which I knew nothing about and didn’t want to know about it. Long story short, it turned out to be one of the best courses that I completed in college. Enjoyed the music and the history behind the music which resulted in there being a very large selection of Classical music in our home. Taught me to be more open minded towards music variety which in turn brought forth a lot of listening pleasure over the last 39 years. Still don’t like Rap though!

Hi, Joe! Glad to be here! Willie Nelson singing Seven Spanish Angels is favorite song for me. Thank you for posting this. I’m having a sleepless night this evening and I might get the telecaster over here, put the earphones on, and give it a strum or two.

Safe boating,
Joe
