my intro to Floyd was thru my father, via my brother...

Folks split in roughly '75.

Mom moved to Denmark, got married

Brother moved there in about 78

Brother came to visit in 80, one goal was to find this awesome new album that was sold out in europe so his goal was to find while he was here.

I'm named after the two guys in my dads college band; music was always a part of my life.

Dad, as always was common at the time, copied to cassette (high end Realistic double deck which he still has and uses).

The rest is history.

His favorite is Division Bell. He says as a guitarist he finds he connects with that one the most. And it works great for his drive from his house to the ferry in Anacortes...

For me, toss up between Animals and Wish You Were Here as a complete album but if you watch the post above most of those are collectively my favorites but i cannot think of a bad song that i skip.

You know that I care
What happens to you
And I know that you care
For me too
So, I don't feel alone on the weight of the stone
Now that I've found somewhere safe to bury my bone
And any fool knows a dog needs a home
A shelter from pigs on the wing

Cheech and Chong 😁, early 80's, the embassy theater was next to the grand hotel on Dee st (Invercargill's main st ) we would fair sprint outa the theater and into the public bar s
at intermission and absolutely pile drive a couple of jugs ( 750ml pitchers ) and race back to the theater for the 2nd half .
We would park in the centre plots of Dee st outside theater and fire up the knives ( use camping type gas burner to heat the tips of bone handled knives red hot and then squash a ball of pot between them and inhale thru a beer bottle with the bottom broken out ....real lung busting stuff .) the burner used to sit in the middle of the front bench seat of the half brown Holden ( half covered in primer ....and thats what the cops named it ...not us ) ....there was one of them furry things with wobbly eyes hanging from the rear view mirror , anyhows it caught fire and in the panic and hillarity it was tossed out the drivers window .....and straight into the open police car window that had just pulled up along side . The cops ,realising it wasnt malicious were laughing as much as us and , as usual the made us tip out all the beer and confiscated what pot we fessed up to , bagged the driver ( breath alcohol test ) and took the rotor out of the dizzy ....we had several so no matter .
Yeah ...Cheech and Chong ....saw every movie several times . Good days 😆😆😆
