Re: Dangerous Balls (Hitch Balls that is)

I leave mine in mostly because I use it almost every day. I do Lawn Care part time and pull my equipment trailer on an almost daily basis. To mush of a pain to take out and put back every day. I do have a locking in it.

I have banged my chins up quite a bit with them over the years though. You eventually learn (subconsciously) just how far it sticks out. I have no banged mine in a while and neither has the wife.

Why would anyone want to leave their hitch in when you can put one of those cool propellor things in the receiver instead?

Just kidding, I, too have many bumps on my shins from vicious hitches and tounges.

I too have lost some shin skin to the tongue.:%:%
The greasy ball problem has been solved..........cut down a tennis ball & slip it over the ball. The yellow ones show up well.

my hitch ball is there to tell me when i've backed in far enough in the garage at work.

i hit the ball on a jeep once, it killed. bruised the top of the shin bone in the knee joint, my knee was bent when i hit it. hurt for months, no witnesses.

Mine stays in moet of the time so that the A**hole that parks behind me at work keeps his distance. He usually went up till he touched my bumper but now after hitting the ball stays back a couple of feet.
