Dash Switch Issue

Hey guys, I have a Procraft 17ft and i am having issues with my switches on my dash they are laid out as followed MASTER,NAV/ANC,BILGE,(steering wheel),AERA, ACC, COURT. well my Master and my nav/anc work and light up fine with test light however none of the others do and I am just wondering what wires to check and where to begin trying to trace problem.

there isn't a standard wiring diagram. usually the wires come with the motor and branch off from there.are wires missing? check fuses could be under engine cowl or at fuse box. going to need more info

Thats the wierd thing, I cant find the fuse box anywhere any ideas where it may be, the boat is a aluminum side console bass boat

ok like I said, first place to look is in engine area. then go to your battery ansd start following wires, check positive side first, cause thats usually whats fused. use test light with long ground lead, you have to have some type of curcuit protection, fuse or curcuit breaker. what kind of electrical components do you have? does every thing look factory or add on?

The switches are not generally powered via the engine harness. They are powered through the separate boat harness which is the two smaller wires from the battery that run up to the helm. If the switches have little white buttons beneath them, you don't have a fuse panel -- you have circuit breakers. You said switches light up with a test light. What does that mean? Do you mean the switches have power on the input side and when you turn them on they have power on the output side as well? If that's the case, you have power at the switches. That means the problem is between the switch and the device it controls. Probably missing a ground.

The only switches that light up with the test light are the Master and NAV/ANC and they light up both ways and both switches work bc my nav lights and my anc light comes on. All the others have no power either way and yes they have the white buttons so could it be my circuit breakers?

Every switch is generally connected to the INPUT side by jumpering from one switch to the next. If the switch doesn't have power going in, it can't have power going out. Check it with your test light. Start at the switch and work backward. when you find power the problem is between that point and the switch. Push each of the white buttons. Those are circuit breakers. When there is an electrical problem they open just like the ones in your house. Reset them and try the circuit. If it works momentarily or immediately pops, there is a problem in that circuit.

Apparently every one of your switches has a corresponding circuit breaker. So power is first fed to the hot side of each circuit breaker by jumpering from one breaker to the next on down the line. The load side of each circuit breaker then feeds the LINE side of each switch. The LOAD side of each switch then goes to the device.

Problem solved! Circuit breaker was bad and I replaced it and everything fired right up from bilge,aeriator,ACC, and Court Thanks for your help!
