hi all i winterized my boat this winter for the first time properly. how should i get it ready to run.for the first time??<br />new spark plugs<br />new gas filter<br />change waterpump<br />lower oil<br />1987 merc 80 nhp also i have it hooked up to oil injection is this good to get rid of it and mix gas by itself. my gas tank is portables 2 6 gal<br />thanks all answered<br />bobby in philly

I think you have it covered, bobby.<br /><br />I wouldn't disconnect the oil injection if it is working.

I hope you did the lower unit oil as part of winterization process, if so no need to do it again. burn out all your winterized gas, power tune engine, get all the gook out of the engine, then change plugs & filters. Refill w/ fresh gas, & most importantly go have fun!!!!!!!!! Joe

do check the plastic oil lines. if the are hard or break when ya bend them they are bad. bad oil lines do bad things. the lines are and were cheesy but thats what they maade for years. the actual injection pump works well for years and years. the lines fail.check them. replacement in the driveway is cheap and easy. its amazing the number of motors that disentagrate over 10 dollers worth of plastic lines.
