I left my 1989 Seaswirl (5.8L)in my garage without winterizing or starting it all winter. I've tuned it up and changed the oil but hesitated on starting it. Is there something I should do before firing it up? I'm a bit worried since the cylinders are probably dry. Thanks for your help!<br />Mike

IF you are worried about the cylinders squirt a little marvel mystery oil in each one and let it set for a few minutes. Turn the motor over a few times without the plugs, put them back in and see what happens. Good Luck!

When you say without winterizing it do you mean you did not drain the water and add antifreeze? How cold does it get in the winter where you are?

Thats what I was going to ask. If you left water in it, and the garage isn't heated, you won't have to worry about cylinders. I am guessing (but not hoping) it gets pretty damn cold in Oregon in the winter. Good luck.

The garage never got below 44 degrees all winter. There's a room directly above it. The few days that it did get below freezing, I put a heater next to the block.

Glad to hear that. Wish I could afford to heat my garage. You must not have Niagra Mohawk, lol.
