Two times I have been out in Georgian bay in 4 t0 5 foot waves and everything was running alright and then the boat just dies the first time last year I thought the motor was just too wet it started again and we turned around and got back in.this time it did not start got towed and two days later I got it running.
I thought the motor was taking on water through the exhaust but there is no water in the oil there may of been in the gas I think, is it possible it goes in the vent in really rough water and is there a simple fix. the vent seems to be in a bad spot if the water gets up that high all the time .

Re: dead in the water

If starts back up then its not water flooding you motor its a electrical problem. Check your battery terminals and electrical terminals on the motor something electrical is getting wet and killing your motor, water could be hitting your kill swich causing it to die!!
