Dead link in secret file

I have an 86 E60 that the VRO system was removed by a mechanic before I got the boat, it has never run properly since, goes from dry to flooded way too often and easily. I have been reading up on the VRO system for awhile. In the secret file, part of the conversion outlined is something that screws into the existing fuel pump. That link is dead. What does that part do? And if I need one, what is it called? Also, for the life of me, I cannot find where the oil line from the old tank was plugged. I've traced the two lines from the pump and don't see a plug or open ended hose anywhere. Motor does run, no warning beeps, except on initial key on.

All that is needed to disconnect the system is:

Unhook the warning wires.

Plug the oil line along side the fuel connector.

Which link is dead?

I cannot where the mechanic removed the wires. Shouldn't there be an empty harness or something? This is the link that is dead: It's in the J/E top secret file, VRO conversion questions, http://www.iboats.com/Fuel-Pump-for-...view_id.174141

It sounds like something that you can use to completely bypass the existing fuel pump? yet remain pulse generated?

There are just two wires that are disconnected. A brown and a black. You can probably see two wires, of those colors, under the hood with nothing attached to them.

In some cases you can remove the oil injection pump and install an older style straight fuel pump. I don't know if that is what was done to yours.

Re: Dead link in secret file

I'll get some pics soon. The story of the boat (they all have one) it was my wife's grandfather's boat, he had the VRO ripped out, and it never ran the same again. I've had the boat 10 years, been in storage for the last 5 because I got tired of messing with it, but now I want it up and running. The fuel pump looks just like the one in the secret file post (vro conversion questions), it has only two lines going to it, I assume one in and one out. Didn't the vro fuel pumps have a fuel in, oil in, and one out to carb? I have a manual somewhere, it's current location is in question. I'm replacing the fuel line and tanks. I'm going to try to dip it next week after I replaced the bilge and steering cable. I'll work on some pics.

Yes, one in one out. It sounds like someone already did the conversion.

The oil injection pumps are quite large in comparison and are circular shaped.
