This year was my first year with a boat and I bought a 15ft Bayliner Trophy Bass with a 50hp Force. The little boat is just what i need but i came across this today and was thinking of getting rid of my boat for this. here is the guys ad and a picture.

1993 Stratos 290 SF Fish and Ski with 150 Evinrude 8 passenger.

My family and I have had this boat for the last 14 years and have had great time with it. It has fished many lakes in Minnesota and Iowa as well as pulled many tubers and skiers. The kids have moved on and we have decided to down size.

It is a beautiful boat with many options including: A 24 volt Evinrude trolling motor, Lowrance LMS-480 depth finder/GPS unit, an indash Lowrance flasher, 2 live wells, Minnkota 3 bank battery charger and rear deck pad. The purchase of the boat includes the trailer and spare tire.

Last fall I had to have the power pack replaced on the engine. This spring I did have intermittent issues with the engine, that is why my price is so low.

This boat is sold as is, with no warranty.

I emailed him and asked him about the intermittent issues and this was his response.

Was losing spark on 3 cylinders. Had the power pack replaced and still no luck. Did run, but still not as reliable as I want.

The boat is still my favorite boat that I?ve owned. It handles rough water great and fishing from it was fantastic. Plus it is an 8 passenger boat that is very comfortable.

Can you guys give me any pointers? I just find it hard to believe that owning this boat since almost new and going to let it go over a spark issue? Let me know what you guys think. His price on this boat is $2500.

Do a compression test. If it passes, buy it. Could be a screaming deal.

I'm not sure. However, I do know that the numbers themselves aren't really important as the gauges are apparently pretty inaccurate. BUT they should all be within 10% of each other. (I may really be wrong here and someone will correct me but I think those V6's are lower compression so something like 90 is decent).

Could be a steal, deserves further investigation at the least.

That boat is worth that all day long....even if you had to sink some money in it to fix it.....I Bass fish alot of tournaments...and those boats here go for 5k plus even with that age....I would love to find a deal like that....

just check compression on the motor...to make sure the side with no spark is up to par.......

wish it was close to me..I'd grab it fast if the motor was in good shape and compression was good....
