Decarbed my force/does it sound like I did it RIGHT

92/120 Force, pretty low hours, read alot about the pros/cons of decarbing, finally I said what the hell, used valtech, followed instructions on can, said to run engine fast idle and spray into both carbs being careful not to stall the engine well anyway it took a good 2/3 minutes to get the whole can in, by this time it was smoking like crazy, finally was done and shut her off, waited 15 minutes and started her up again on fast idle, didn't really smoke much after that, ran for 15 minutes, noticed, changed the plugs, plugs were covers with black crap, grass had 2 big black spots where the water was running out the water outets, let it sit overnight and it started right up, before this it would take about 45 seconds to 1 minute to get her running after sitting, is the black spots in the grass normal, hopefully this was carbon being blown out! Does this sound like it was done right?

Pretty close. You should also pull the sparks plugs and spray a bunch into the cylinders. Let it soak for an hour or more. Then fire it up and run it for awhile. This will help to dissolve more of the carbon crud from the rings and allow them to move freely. This will let the rings seal better to cylinder walls and give you more compression, resulting in easier starts and more power.<br /><br />I would go buy another can and finish the job. Then you should be humming across the water. <br /><br />The black crud is the carbon that has been blown out, this is good. Its a good thing you weren't parked in front of the garage door, that would have been a mess.<br /><br />Replace the plugs when you are all done.<br />Happy boating.

I would do as Roscoe suggests but not just run it at fast idle afterwards but stick her on the water and run wot. This will burn all the crap out

hey rude that is better but you will also get all the carbon deposited in the water
