Hi, I am relatively new to boating so I want to be extra careful with my motor. I have read a few posts here that mention "Decarbing". What is this and how often should it be done. By the way, this is a very informative site.

Murray-

Re: Decarbing

HY MURRAY,

DECARB IS THE "DECARBONIZING" PROCEDURE YOU MUST TO DO AFTER 200 HOURS OF ENGINE OPERATION OR EVERY 2 YEARS, IN MY CASE. IT MEANS YOU MUST TO CLEAN YOUR ENGINE INSIDE FOR CARBON RESIDUES IN ORDER TO KEEP YOUR ENGINE FREE OF CARBON WHICH CAUSE PRE-IGNITION PROBLEMS AND MAY DAMAGE ANY PISTON.
PLEASE, CHECK FOR SOME POST FOR "HOW TO DO IT PROCEDURE".

SALUDOS DESDE VENEZUELA

CARLOS SCHEMEL
