Re: Decilpawpaw

Well, I can't tell you the year, Pawpaw, but I can tell you that it was made by Gale, a division of OMC, in the 50s.

Fuel mix is 24:1, using TC-W3 outboard oil and regular gas.
Spark plugs are Champion. Some used J6J and others J4J, the J6C and J4C are replacements. Use the J6C for high speed operation, J4C if you do mainly trolling and low speed operation. Gap at .030"

The magneto points are set at .020".

Someone will come along with the year pretty soon.

Using your Email addy for a handle is pretty risky. I suggest that you modify that.

It's a 63 Gale Sea King...reverse first two numbers in serial number. The older Gales have two numbers before the GG designation in the model number, to date those you reverse those two numbers.

Interesting. That model number does not appear in either of the two complete Gale Sea King lists that I have. Could you have read it wrong or maybe it's hard to make it out?

At any rate, the fuel mix is 24:1
