Deck hasn't seen a scuff it doesn't like; suggestions needed?

My boat deck seems to suck up all the filth and dirt that finds it. It isn't easy to clean after a day out on the water fishing. Will a few coats of wax on the deck stop this from hapening? Suggestions appreciated.

Can you show us a photo to help us understand "Sucks Up" is it cracked and gets in the cracks? or is it just the surface holds grime? Wax is not a good idea I bet on a pitching and rolling boat.

perhaps you have a non skid surface like my old boat has. i'd say that my decks sucks up dirt and grime. the dirt gets down in the nonskid surface and is miserable to clean after whatever dirt it is drys.... only thing i've found to make it easier to clean is to wash off the filth prior to it drying. i just use lake water and a bucket... if i let it go and wait till i'm home to clean it. i'll surely have to get the bristle brush out and soapy water.... scrubbing it get's the clean back. but it's a lot harder when it's left on, even for a little while....

I use a solvent called Poop-Off. It is environmentally friendly, and removes just about everything else as well.

Thank you all, the deck is a non-skid. I will be brining the brush the next time I am on the water.

Is there anything I can do to keep it from not soaking in all the muck? Would wax work on the non-skid?

while i've not tried to wax my nonskidsurface. i have got a little wax on it while waxing the plain glass. it's even worse that getting the grime out of it. the wax does exactly what the grime does. gets down into the non skid surface. then ya gatta clean that out. so i don't wax it on the non skid part of my boat, which is the whole top deck... i just keep it clean... usually gets washed after every trip. so about once a week my boat gets washed...

this was the morning of fall camp night out. this required the brush and soapy water at home to get the grime off.. though the bucket of water at the lake helped. but it didn't get it out of the non skid...

Clean it up the best you can and then wax the deck using Woody Wax. If you have a local Tractor Supply Fluid Film is the same stuff at 1/2 the price of WW.

Follow the directions exactly and use no more than a squirt or two for the entire top side of the boat. After the application dirt and grime will rinse right off using nothing more than water.

Thanks for the great advice. I don'think I will be will be scrubbing the deck for an hour after every trip now.

Not really. I bought a bottle then won a bottle in a raffle a few weeks later. That was 3 years ago and I still have 1/2 a bottle left of the one I bought.

Obey the instructions word for word. Use too much product or not rinse it down enough it will let you know. As I said earlier, I use 2 squirts on my entire top side.

It's a water soluble wax. Wet the deck down and throw a couple of squirts on the deck. Use a boat brush and spread it around on the deck.

Let it dry completely then rinse, more like blast, off the decks with a hose. Rinse until you think it's adequate then rinse it one more time. Let it dry again and wipe it down with a towel to polish it up.

If you use too much or don't rinse well enough you'll get "grey" marks on the deck. Easily resolve but buy rinsing again and drying

Purchased the woody wax, awesome stuff. I have taken it out a couple of times since applying and it keeps dirt and muck from bonding to the surface. Thanks for the recomendation.
