Will be begining my deck replacement prodject next week and was just wondering what tools I will be needing to do this and does anyone have any tips on doing it?

The boat is not at home so I will be needing to bring tools. Whatever it is, ill bring it, even if its an air compressor. Thanks in advance for the help guys.

Re: Deck Replacement

First, if you need to replace the deck, make sure your stringers and transom are solid. The tools you'll need:
1. Cartridge type dust mask, the surgeon kind are useless.
2. Eye protection
3. Long sleeves, fiberglass dust will haunt you a long time otherwise
4. Skill saw for the big areas
5. Angle grinder for the edges

sawzall was helpful for me too, otherwise rockyrude's list is pretty good. the flap style discs worked good on grinding old glass.

you'll also want some sort of pry bar for getting into and under the old foam to try to pop it out in large chunks if it's wet.
