OK, Its time for some pics of the progress until now. These show the cleaned out hull. Then I put in some pieces of pink foam. The deck has a layer of poly resin and cloth and then has a second coat of poly resin.

Now these show the deck after it was riveted in place. A coat of poly resin wetted the cloth in to place. I used one solid piece of cloth . Then a second coat of poly resin was applied.

Re: Deck Replacement

I just layed the Nautolex down this past weekend. Stuff was pretty easy to work with. I will start putting everything back together this week and then post the finnished product.

I know she's water worthy. We had some family that came from California and had never been fishing. Well i'm a Georgia boy who never turns down a chance to go fishin, so I had a hillybilly moment. I had the deck attached and glassed, so I took some plastic lawn chairs ,4 to be exact, and bolted in the steering column, battery and tank, and a fishin we went. I figured what better way to see if she leaked, before getting it all back together then finding out. She worked great. not a leak anywhere.

Re: Deck Replacement

Just some small sunnies. It was my sister and laws first time, so she was excited to catch anything. It was right at sunset so the temp was right and the loons were singing, so a good day to be on the water just enjoying it.

Re: Deck Replacement

Here is the finished product. I put everything back in the boat and used solid rivets on the side wall attachments. First time doing that as well. A small air hammer with a rivet bit and a small rivet set for backing and it worked like a charm. The rest is stainless screwed to the deck.
What a fun project. Now my wife and I have a great fishing boat to enjoy for years to come. I really want to thank all of you for sharing your expertise in this craft. Couldnt have done it without this site and your knowledge.
See you on the water.:D

Re: Deck Replacement

looks real good, but remember to put a cover on it and you wont have to be replacing stuff so much.
