Deck replacment

I have a question can the deck sit on edge of hull or should it not touch fiberglass at all?
I am ready to cut stringers to height and can not go any further untill I decide I am thinking 1/2 inch or so off fiberglass I hope someone can let me know .

Your deck should fit as close to the sides of the hull as possible. You should then use Poly Peanut Butter to Bridge the gap and create a concave joint to make laying the tabbed joint easier.

woodonglass thanks for the reply, should the deck not sit on the bottom of the out side chines
( bottom of the boat ) also is the rule no wood on fiberglass

The Deck Sits on the top of the Stringers and Bulk heads. I'm not sure what you are asking??

I do....he's asking about the area near the sides....the answer is: not normally, most have a bit of a gap there. Some really thin pieces of foam work well for spacers. If you have a poured foam system that gap should fill in with the expanding foam.
