but..

You might understand why I misunderstood.. I thought the poster was talking about Buoyancy instead of Displacement...Which I still dont understand what relevance Displacement has for power boats ( Sailboats yes ).

So yes..my bad.

PS. When you're on plane you displace less water then what the boat and gear weighs. ;) .

FMC36831M76L is the number on the title and somewhat ledgable on the boat
Can someone help me with the motor rating/weight capacity please or is there a formula?

The Hull ID won't tell you what you want to know. All it tells us is the boat was made by Fisher Marine Corp (FMC), the serial number (36831), and it was built in July of the 1976 model year. (M76L). That is all that you get from the HIN.

You may be able to get information from Fisher Marine. They are still in business.
