Deer!

We have tons of deer on our property, but I always seem to forget to snap shots of them, took these this morning off of our front porch.

They always set off our driveway alarm!

Looks like a doe and a little button.

While my freezer stays full of venison, I am not allowed to shoot these deer, because according to my wife, they are "our" deer.

I shot a younger buck this year that I have a picture of from this fall in our flowers.... Just finished butchering it. The wife wasn't displeased at all.....

Nice, you got some good pics there.. fun fun.

during a light dusting of snow this early early a.m., kinda a foggy look, I noticed a huge bodied 4x walking past the house a few hundred yards away.. we jumped in the car for a better look but he must have trotted off to the river.. it's a lot of fun to see the deer around the house. While the beans were still in the field my wife would've ran outside and yelled at it..
Still have a bow tag to fill if I take the time.

I used to hunt deer a long time ago, but every winter for the past 20 years we have this area on a snowmobile trail, far from the beaten path, where we feed them right out of our hands. They hear us coming and run out to greet us like family. It's taken on a new perspective.

gotta love em' when they don't give you a good broadside. I refuse to take quartering shots of any animal. I have passed up plenty of bucks for this reason.

Whatever you do...... don't feed them! I knew a nice gentlemen and his wife loved "her" deer and fed them daily..... they went on a winter vacation and when they returned the deer had consumed all of their landscaping bushes.

Thats when you start planting herbal landscape bushes like rosemary and thyme to enhance their flavor.
