Since i need to know where im starting to get to where I am going, I am in desperate need to know where i shouild set the Idle screw after a rebuild? the manual i have does not tell me where to set the idle screw.(I should of marked it). The engine is a 92-94 force 40hp 2 cylinder 2 stroke, I do not have a serial number. I set the Air'Fuel mix screw out the 1 1/8th turns but do not know where I should set the Idle screw. I figure I would ask, so i don't burn up my Starter trying to chase it down. Pretty much asking so I can get it tank started and make my final adjustments on the water.

i would back it off so that the throttle pickup is at full rest, then run the screw in till it contacts the block, then screw in I would hazard to say 1 1/2 - 2 turns. Once it's idling you can set the idle speed. Thats just what I would do.

Set the idle screw in gear and in water 700-800 rpm.

If you have done a complete rebuild with one or more new piston you should make an break in period.
Run the engine with "richer" oil ratio about dubble mix 4% oil. and run at different rpm and not WOT but more then some half to one minute.

Do this for some hour.

For initial startup, just put it back together and start it.

There is a post one of the first three in this forum that covers "link and sync"

Once it's running, then do the fine tuning.
