I've been wanting to build a little hydro boat, if thats zipping along at speed, it should be barely touching the water, and therefore hardly leave a ripple right? I should be able to get thru those no wake zones like nothing! ;)

When it says "No Wake", I just look behind me, and if my wake is taller/bigger/higher then the naturally occurring waves, then I slow it down to be the same. In 32 years, I've never been cited on the water. (Solid ground is a whole different story though...)

Sadly the 'My boat doesn't leave a wake at high speed argument' habitually fails in court. Not to say it isn't true in some cases. Boaters were screwed when the man added "idle speed" to "no wake".

You yankees oughta consider yourselves lucky Manatee aren't included in the mix.
